A couple of months ago my wonderful friend Emily called and asked me if I wanted to go on a road trip with her to Disneyland. The catch . . . no kids! I told her it sounded like fun but I needed to think about it and talk to Jason. She has a daughter who was playing in a band competition near Disneyland and wanted to go watch her and visit the "Happiest Place on Earth". I was able to figure the kids situation out and the next thing I know I'm on a plane headed to Las Vegas to meet Em. Can I just tell you that everyone needs a night or two away from their husband and kids? To say I had a magnificent, wonderful, great time gravely understates it. It was the most fun I've had in quite awhile. Don't get me wrong I have a great time with my hubby and kids but this was the kind of let your hair down, get-out-of-mommy-mode, laugh like no-one is watching FUN!!! I came back so rejuvenated and ready to be a better mom and wife. While I was in LV I was able to spend some invaluable time with some GREAT friends!!!! I am so glad I was able to see so many people who I considered (and still do) family while I lived in LV. Thanks to everyone I got to stay with and/or visit with. Sorry to those I missed and hopefully I'll catch you next time. One more thing: thanks Em, like I've said before you never cease to amaze me!!!! Love ya!

That sounds awesome Amy. We should do that some time. Maybe in a year or so when I don't have a new baby. I'm glad you had fun!
Amy,
That sound so fun. I agree entirely, I love all the munchies at my house, but time away in invaluable. Hey this is a funny way to contact you, but I need a new email address for you. Can you email me one?

HOW FUN! I was just there with kids! I can't imagine the freedom without them! I'm glad you got to get away!
Great idea- I'm tied down for a while- I understand why people formula feed! We are planning a mini trip with the kids- the first ever that isn't staying with family!
How fun, what a great idea!
