We changed our minds

We changed our minds again and decided not to rent the Payson home. We loved that it was out in the farm country and only 20 minutes from Jason's work, but when we went to sign the contract and do the final walk through before we moved in it was dirty and gross. There was mold in the bathroom and we would have needed to replace the bathroom floor before we even moved in. It would have been a lot of work for just a 2 bedroom place. A friend called and found out about a place in Birdseye. That is on highway 89 on your way up to Provo. A nice lady wanted to rent out her basement. It is 2100 sq ft and the kitchen and great room have french doors that open up to a covered patio. It doesn't feel like your in the basement because the back of it is ground level. It's in the mountains and beautiful. The best thing of all is it was the same price as the Payson one and this has the utilites included. We got a deal! It has never been lived in and all the appliances are brand new. It has a fireplace, 3 bedrooms, 2 bath, and a den. We are very excited about it. It's only 15-20 minutes from my mom and Jason's commute will be about 40 minutes. Aubree will be bussed in (hopefully if the school board approves it because we are 1 mile into Utah County) to Fairview Elementary. That will only be 15 minutes instead of the 40 minutes it would take to ride the bus to Spanish Fork Elementary. Everything is finally working out. I feel great about it all. I was very stressed when we were going to rent the Payson one, I guess I need to pay more attention to what the spirit is trying to tell me. Now I'm just excited!!! I hope all is well with everyone. I forgot the most ironic part of all: This house is right across the street from where I got into that bad car accident when I was pregnant with Aubree. Crazy.

Back to Work

Jason started his new job today, YEAH!!!!!  I asked him if he was nervous last night and he said he was excited, not nervous.  We both feel really good about this job.  He'll work today, then have tomorrow off for the holiday, then he'll travel with all the other engineers in the state to Torrey, UT for meetings Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Not a bad first week of work, huh!

As for the rest of us, we found a house to live in.  It is a little farm house in Payson, UT.  It only has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath, but it has a big family room.  It has one of those old coal stoves with a chute in the side to load the coal.  We don't know much about those kind of stoves, so if anyone does, please feel free to share what you know.  I love the area that the houses is in.  It is on 5 acres (although we are not renting all of them, but nothing is on the rest of it so I think the kids can roam a little).  All of the neighbors are on farm land also.  Yeah, I don't feel like I'm right in the city.  Also, it is only 15 minutes to Jason's work.  Remember how I said the rest of the land has nothing on it, well is is covered with about 4 feet of weeds.  We hope to make good friends with a very nice neighbor who happens to have a tractor who could help us get rid of all those weeds.  We'll see how that turns out.  We'll be gradually moving the next two weeks, but we'll move all of the big stuff not this weekend, but next.  We're excited, but I am concerned for Aubree who has already been in two different schools this year.  This will make her third and she'll probably have to ride the bus to school and back.  I know that she'll be fine, but I worry about her because she has natural quiet tendencies that have come out more when we've moved recently.  I hope all is well with everyone and as soon as I dump all the pictures we've taken on the computer I'll post pictures of the kids' Halloween costumes.  They were very cute if I might say so myself.  The girls both wanted to be Tooth Fairies.  I bet you couldn't guess the colors they wanted to be.  Aubree loves pink so she was the Pink Tooth Fairy, and Alexa loves purple so she was the purple Tooth Fairy.  I made a crown out of glittery teeth and they had a tooth wand and wings and a skirt that lit up  (thanks Grandma Robinson) and a shirt with a glittery tooth on it that said Tooth Fairy.  They were adorable.  Erick was a Tiger (thank you Brenda for the costume)  He as very cute too.  We painted his face a little and they all had a ball!!!!  Like I said, pictures will be coming soon.
